Protecting the Industry. Defending Fairness.

In addition to membership, BTOA offers a Membership Donation option for members and supporters who wish to contribute further to the protection of Bermuda’s taxi industry.

Purpose of the Donation

All funds contributed through the Membership Donation product are allocated specifically to support legal and professional fees associated with BTOA’s ongoing and anticipated legal actions relating to ride-share and unregulated transport operations.

These legal efforts are focused on:

• Defending the rights and livelihoods of licensed taxi owners and operators
• Addressing the impact of unregulated ride-share services on the regulated PSV sector
• Supporting legal review, counsel, and representation related to transport legislation and enforcement
• Ensuring fair, lawful, and consistent application of existing transport laws

Why Donations Matter

Legal action is costly but necessary. Membership donations allow BTOA to:

• Act decisively and independently on behalf of the industry
• Secure qualified legal representation and expert advice
• Sustain long-term advocacy efforts without increasing mandatory membership fees

Important Note
Membership donations are voluntary contributions and are separate from annual membership fees. Donating does not affect membership status or voting rights but directly strengthens BTOA’s ability to represent and defend the industry.
